SeaSide Jam Funk and Soul Festival

The maritime city of Bremerhaven has always been a city with a long history and tradition in all areas. In the field of music, too, there have been jazz and soul festivals, which over the years have attracted music enthusiasts from beyond the city limits to the port city.

With the "Seaside Jam" on October 27 and 28, 2017, a new high-quality and multi-faceted cultural festival with a lot of tradition was installed for the North German region: The two-day concert marathon in the Bremerhaven City Hall combines the best of established music events in one weekend: "Jazz-Port-Festival" on Friday and "Soulfood Festival" on Saturday. More than ten bands with internationally known artists were present.

On Saturday evening 28.10.2017 the "Soulfood-Night" was on the agenda: The British funk legend "Delegation" (feat Ricky Bailey) enthused the visitors with all-time-classics like "Where is the love (we used to know)", "Heartache No. 9" and of course "You and I". Ex-freak power trombonist and singer Ashley Slater, known for the acid jazz hit "Turn on, tune in, cop out", guaranteed crisp funk. And the American disco-soul-queen Kiki Kyte, circle of friends legend DJ Friction and the British crooner Eli Thompson - supported by the Sed Soul Festival Orchestra - made the Stadthalle dance. Also present: local hero Big Jano Green and David A. Tobin - known for the Harlem Gospel Singers and The Les Humphries Singer, among others.

Only voice-acoustic loudspeakers were used as monitor system for these top-class thoroughbred musicians. 11 pieces of CXN-16 and a Paveosub-118 for the drummers made sure that the musicians felt comfortable on stage and could fully concentrate on their performance.

The loudspeakers were powered by HDSP system amplifiers.

Many musicians were more than positive about the stage sound, saying that they had rarely heard themselves so well and that the interaction of the band was significantly better due to the high quality of the monitoring.
