Baltiska Hallen Malmö Sound Upgrade with Voice-Acoustic
In Malmö, the metropolis in southwest Sweden and the country's third largest city, stands the Baltiska Hallen, a multipurpose arena steeped in tradition with room for around 4,000 spectators. Opened in 1964, the hall has hosted not only world championships and sports events over the course of its history, but has also seen music legends such as The Rolling Stones on its stage. Today it serves as the home venue of first division handball club HK Malmö. In late 2025, the Baltiska Hallen was equipped with a new Voice-Acoustic sound system.
The design and installation of the new sound system were carried out by Swedish Voice-Acoustic distribution partner SPL Rental AB from Vellinge. Founded in 2017 by brothers Daniel and Anton Nilsson, the company has been the exclusive Voice-Acoustic distributor for Sweden since 2024. The result in Malmö is a tailor made sound reinforcement setup consisting of 26x Voice-Acoustic Ikarray-6 and 8x Voice-Acoustic Paveosub-115, powered by 3x Voice-Acoustic HDSP-16K8D system amplifiers. The arena floor to be covered was divided between a total of 8 Voice-Acoustic Ikarray-6 arrays and 4 flown subwoofer arrays (2x Voice-Acoustic Paveosub-115). The VIP area also received a sound upgrade, consisting of 4x Voice-Acoustic Score-5, 2x TENNAX Centri-5Pro, 1x Voice-Acoustic Paveosub-115 and 1x Voice-Acoustic HDSP-8K4D system amplifier.
"We are proud to be able to equip the Baltiska Hallen with the latest Voice-Acoustic sound technology. Thanks to efficient planning and simulation with EASE Focus 3, the installation went smoothly and the result exceeds our expectations. With the new sound system, this arena steeped in tradition is now well prepared for future events," says Daniel Nilsson, Managing Director of SPL Rental AB.
