Ewha Womens University Seoul, South Korea

Construction of the new Ewha Womens University Medical Center began in January 2015.

The state-of-the-art hospital and the neighbouring medical university were ceremonially opened in 2019 in Magok-dong, on the western outskirts of the capital Seoul.

The large hospital has a capacity of 1,000 beds, mostly in single rooms.

It is located directly next to the Ewha Womans University College of Medicine. The architecture is characterized by the use of metal glass and vertical louvers, which create a relatively slim appearance compared to the big size of the building. The building has 10 floors and 6 basement levels and covers an area of 220,179.85 square meters.

The modern rooms with high-tech equipment for research and education herald a new era for the Medical University, which was founded in 1886 and is well-respected worldwide.

For the media technology planning and equipment of the Medical Center and College, the Voice-Acoustic distribution partner YNC-Solution won the contract with its submitted concept.

Sound reinforcement systems from Voice-Acoustic are used in all rooms. The selection and positioning of the loudspeakers was defined by the use of EASE simulation models.

The hospital was also be used as a film set for a series of medical films to be broadcast on Korean television. Thus, the loudspeakers from Dörverden could also be found in some TV scenes.
